Kathleen Bucci
Post 1597 Auxiliary Lifetime Member -

Kathleen (Devlin) Bucci April 30 1932 – June 29, 2011

Kathleen was a lifelong resident of Penndel, PA. Kathleen was the wife of the late James Bucci, Sr. She married the love of her life while on leave before he had to ship off to Korea in May 1953. She stayed married for the rest of her life until her death in 2011. Kathleen was the loving mother of 7children: James, Katrina, Lawrence, Brian, Vincent, Anita and Thomas. She was very proud of her 23 grand-children and 17 great grandchildren.

Kathleen was homemaker who enjoyed travelling later in life, playing bingo and taking care of her pets. She was always sewing, making dresses with her mother or tailoring the family clothes. Her first job before marriage was at Lincoln Knitting Company in Penndel. The last of her sewing endeavors was the Santa suit for her husband. As her family grew, it was not uncommon for her to be babysitting one of her grandchildren.  Word spread and soon she was taking in other children while parents worked. She was known and loved by all as "Nana B.”

Kathleen was a graduate of Little Flower High School in Philadelphia, PA which was the closest Catholic high school for girls at that time. She commuted by train every day. She was a faithful member of the Alumni Association and attended every high school reunion for 60 years or so, until her health prevented her from doing so. She traveled near and far with fellow Alumnae, friends and family.

Kathleen was a life member to the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1597. She was very active as a member. Records are unavailable to confirm if she held any officer positions.
