Tom was in the 46th Engineers Battalion while in Vietnam, the unit was assigned to a combat Engineer Unit and built and maintained airfields and Evacuation Hospitals. After serving twenty (20) months in Vietnam, he was sent to Germany. After his discharge, he went to work in the family’s body and fender and car repair business.

 

Tom became a member of VFW Post 1597 through family and friends and has been a member for fifty-six (56) years. He was the first Vietnam veteran of the Post and has held every position. He served as Commander three (3) times for a total of twenty (20) years and achieved Allstate Post Commander eight (8) times.

 

Tom served as VFW Bucks County Commander and as VFW District 8 Commander for two years.  During that time, he achieved District Allstate Commander.  He began serving as the Post Quartermaster In 2016 and achieved Allstate Quartermaster three (3) times. Tom has followed in his family’s footsteps, of taking pride in the USA and in helping veterans and others in need.
